Abstract:
Changes in the earth’s climate affect our natural resources. Debate over the cause and extent of these climate changes has stunted our government’s ability to enact sound environmental policies. To move public policy forward, the public must become better educated about scientific research into climate changes and their affects. Three main climate variabilities occur off the U.S. west coast. The development of an education package on the climate variabilities in the Pacific Ocean and their effect on the Southern California Current ecosystem will allow a more educated public debate on climate change policies by increasing the public’s awareness about the affects of climate changes on our environment.
