Abstract:
The purpose of this capstone project is to develop a plan for a strategic collaboration between the Christian and environmental education communities in Colorado. Although on the surface it may not seem like these communities have much in common, an analysis of trends in each community identifies the shared purpose of environmental education and stewardship of God’s creation. This paper defines the case for collaboration involving the Colorado Alliance of Environmental Education (CAEE) and 17 local Christian organizations. Through a focus on creation of value, including specific objectives related to increased awareness, coordination, and use of best practices, these partners will use complimentary strengths and shared resources to positively affect environmental education for both communities.
